Have you ever wondered what your talent is , or if you even have one?

“There are different kinds of gifts, but the same Spirit. There are different kinds of service, but the same Lord. There are different kinds of working, but the same God works all of them in all men.” -1 Corinthians 12:4-6

According to Romans 12:6 “We have different gifts, according to the grace given to each of us.”  All of us have been given a gift, a talent to be used and to be put into practice. Like it states in 1Peter 4:10 “Each one should use whatever gift he has received to serve others, faithfully, administering God’s grace in its various forms.”

The truth is, that for all of us, sometimes it can be hard to discover what we were created for, or what we are good at. But there are a few different ways that can help us figure this out.

One way is to listen to others, usually people that are around us, family members, friends, co-workers, etc.  These people know what our talents are. Pay attention to what they say. Usually, they can know us better than we know ourselves.

Also, think about what comes easily to you, what takes almost no effort to accomplish, because you are a natural – that is a gift from God.

Last but not least, what do you enjoy doing the most? Teaching, serving, sharing, decorating, building, or something else? That is your talent. James 1:17 says “Every good and perfect gift is from above.”

Give yourself the opportunity to grow spiritually by using what you already have, a beautiful and unique gift, by volunteering in one of the many ministries the church has. This will allow you to discover your true self, and what you were created for.
