Phil Ayres – Lead Pastor/Elder
Phil and his wife, Stefanie, met as college freshmen on the campus of Grand Rapids Baptist College (now Cornerstone University) in the late 80’s. After being married for 8 years (and being tired of the cold weather), Phil persuaded Stefanie to move from Michigan to Florida in order to pursue a job as the E-business Development Director of a mid-size aerospace firm in Tampa. In 2003 God called Phil to full-time ministry at LifePoint Christian Church where’s he’s been since 2003.
AJ (13) and Sofie (10) occupy much of their time. When they aren’t playing boardgames on Family Fun Night, Phil and Stefanie enjoy watching movies, reading good books, and golfing together.

Jan Puterbaugh – Associate Pastor
Jan has been at LifePoint from the very beginning (2002) and has done just about every volunteer job in the church, from setting up chairs on Sunday morning to playing the bass guitar in the band. Being a military retiree, Jan has developed a unique gift for leadership and managing details. His number one goal is to manage the structure of the church organization, coordinate volunteers and leaders, develop teams, equip people for ministry, and make the coffee in the morning. His favorite Bible verse is Isaiah6:8.
Jan and his wife Kelly have have two grown daughters, Jessi and Shannon, their husbands and four grandchildren. Jan and Kelly live in Sanford with their dog’s Isaiah and Charlotte.

Dani Pennington – Children’s Ministry Director
Danielle (Dani) Pennington- grew up just outside of Detroit, MI. After feeling a call into Children’s Ministry at the age of 12, she attended Central Bible College in Springfield, MO. Since then she has been involved in various children’s ministries. She has a great passion to see children come to the saving knowledge of Jesus Christ through creative and fun ways.
Dani has her faithful sidekick Charlie (a chocolate lab/weinhermiar mix) that follows her along on every adventure.
Jonny March – Student Ministry Director
Jonny and Bree met in 1997 at United Assembly of God, Plymouth, MI where they were both youth leaders. In 2004 they expanded their family when they adopted Julia (20) and Viktor (17). The following year, they packed up and moved to Central Florida so that Jonny could attend a pilot school in Sanford. In 2007, Jonny, Bree, Julia, and Viktor began attending LifePoint. In 2010 Jonny was given the privilege of becoming the Student Ministries Director.
Jonny’s passion is to help you deliberately lead your students toward a decision to make Jesus Christ their Lord and Savior; to help you disciple your students to live a life by faith and by the power of the Holy Spirit that always glorifies Christ and resists temptations; and to help equip you to be the best parents and mentors you can be.
Kel Cardin – Communications Director
In addition to keeping us organized, Kel works with her husband Keith in real estate, has an online retail business, and provides Virtual Assistance. Kel is originally from Pittsburgh, PA; she moved to Central FL with her mother and brother in August 1980.
Kel and Keith met in April 1995, and they married in April 1997 at Crane’s Roost Park. Kel has a wonderful “bonus son” named Keith (they call him “Junior”) and three amazing nieces – Jessica (in MA where Keith is from), Madison and Kaitlin (her brother’s two here in Oviedo, FL).
Kel enjoys playing board games and spending quality time with her friends and family. She loves watching movies, listening to music, and cooking. Kel feels blessed that she has a Godly husband. Her goal in life is to be the Proverbs wife for Keith, and her favorite Bible verse is 1 Corinthians 13:4-7.
