The Shaylor Family: Missionaries to Venezuela

The Shaylor Family (Dale, in the red hat, Katie, and their children Amber, Joel and Jem) are are missionaries to Venezuela. Dale flies a plane deep into the jungle to deliver supplies as well as ferry missionaries in areas where there are no other ways of transportation.

An update from Dale: “In the next couple of weeks I have a trip planned with the pastors to a City in Brazil. We are going there to present the Aviation needs and specifically the students we have attending the MAF (Mission Aviation Fellowship) Brazil aviation school there in Brazil. A church there is interested in helping out our students financially and have asked us to go there. I am also beginning the process of getting my medical certificate and pilot certificates renewed here with the Venezuelan authorities. I appreciate your prayers. I have also been in meetings lately as we try to determine the best want to proceed to provide aviation service for our missionaries. The current government situation makes it extremely difficult. Both because of the firm anti Christian stance as well as the difficulty for anyone to operate in aviation. The aviation authorities continue to make it even more difficult for any civil aviation operators. We are praying for wisdom on how to proceed. We are blessed to have lawyers and business folk in the church who are able to give us direction and advice from legal and financial angles.”

Rebecca Peterson: Missionary with YWAM Ozarks (Youth With A Mission)

Mission Adventure: In the spring and summer YWAM Ozarks runs what’s called “mission adventures”.The purpose is to expose students to missions not only in other countries but right in their very own communities. The struggle is stepping out of your comfort zone. — Their first team came from Joplin, MO. It is beyond anything that could be described.”God simply lit a fire within them and they took action!” Several students said their lives were changed during “missions exposure”. Yet, what faced them in the following weeks was life changing as well; Joplin’s devastating tornado. “What we learned in Ozark has helped prepare us for this!! God is good!! He is the God of this city!!” — Lauden Baker, 10th Grade.
